The new online platform Work Life Aargau has been launched within the framework of the strategy to counteract a lack of specialists in the canton of Aargau, which was originally drawn up back in 2016. This platform allows companies to present their business models to specialists and draw attention to the business location of Aargau, as detailed in a press release issued by State Chancellery of the canton of Aargau.

The aim is for specialists to access information on employers in Aargau via the Work Life Aargau platform, as well as on educational institutes, childcare facilities and leisure activities located in the vicinity of their potential employer or place of residence. The platform contains company profiles and information on a typical working day, supplemented by videos and comments from employees.

“Work Life Aargau is comparable with a dating platform”, comments Urs Hofmann, member of the cantonal government of Aargau, in the press release. The platform facilitates contact between companies and specialists. An association comprising representatives from the world of business in Aargau, the location promotion organization for the canton of Aargau, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and the consultancy center ask! is sponsoring the platform.

According to the press release, the canton of Aargau has invested a sum of 1 million Swiss francs in the Work Life Aargau platform, which it raised from the Swisslos fund. CH Media is responsible for the development and operation of the platform, the press release states. The Interactive Technologies department at FHNW has been entrusted with the detailed conception and design.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the canton of Aargau (AIHK) is likewise a cooperation partner for the platform and has made its members aware of the project and promoted their participation. “With Work Life Aargau, companies in Aargau receive an excellent platform to draw attention to their own company and therefore to reach as many interested specialists as possible”, comments Marianne Wildi, President of the AIHK, in the press release.
